BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES OF PRESENTERS

Aaron Feldman Ph.D.
Dr. Feldman, a therapist for Odyssey Family Counseling Center in Atlanta, Georgia, specializes in individual, couples, and family therapy.  He conducts numerous parenting groups and has also addressed issues of domestic violence.

Norman Goldwasser, Ph.D.
Dr. Goldwasser is a licensed clinical psychologist in Florida, known nationally as the founder of the NEFESH Annual Conference and locally as the founder of Kesher, South Florida’s Jewish special education program. Dr. Goldwasser is a nationally renowned speaker whose Jewish Family Encounter Program promotes healthier family functioning through a Torah perspective.

Brian Greer, M.D.
Dr. Greer is a board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. He is the Medical Director of the Center for Family Development in Boca Raton, Florida, a Psychiatry and Psychology center specializing in ADHD, motivational and learning disorders, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders in children and adults. Dr. Greer has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Eye to Eye with Connie Chung, and in several local and national magazines for his expertise with children and Neuropharmacology.

Ora Lee Kanner
Mrs. Kanner, a highly respected, seasoned educational leader in Florida was a long time master teacher and assistant principal at the Rabbi Alexander Sender Gross Hebrew Academy of Greater Miami, founded by her late father. Mrs. Kanner is currently Assistant Principal for Judaic studies at the Weinbaum Yeshiva High School of Boca Raton and Judaic studies instructor at Florida International University.

Jerry Lob, Ph.D.
Dr. Jerry Lob is a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Chicago, specializing in adolescent and family therapy. Dr. Lob received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, and is a well known author of numerous articles on parenting, marriage, and Jewish philosophy.  Dr. Lob also received smicha
from Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, New Jersey.

Gary Magid, M.D.
Dr. Magid has been in private practice in general and child psychiatry in Hollywood, Florida for the past twentyfour years. He incorporates holistic, multi-modal approaches in his practice and has particular interest in the treatment of attention disorder and chronic pain.

Batsheva Marlow
Mrs. Marlow, a former principal of Bais Yaakov of Miami and a veteran master teacher and administrator who has taught students from elementary school through college. She has addressed various topics in numerous communities that have always proven to be extremely popular and inspirational.

David Pelcovitz, Ph.D.
Dr. Pelcovitz is the Chief Child and Adolescent Psychologist at North Shore University Hospital / NYU School of Medicine in New York and Clinical Professor of Psychology at NYU School of Medicine. He also teaches pastoral psychology courses for the Smicha program at Yeshiva University.

Stuart Varon, M.D.
Dr. Varon is an Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry in Baltimore, Maryland. He is board certified in both child and adolescent psychiatry and general psychiatry.

Rabbi Tzvi Hersh Weinreb, Ph.D.
Rabbi Dr. Weinreb is the Executive Vice President of the Orthodox Union and is a noted Rav, psychologist and orator. He was formerly the spiritual leader of Congregation Shomrei Emunah of Baltimore, Maryland and served as Assistant Supervisor of Psychological Services for the Prince George’s County Public Schools and Chief Psychologist of the Potomac Foundation for Mental Health, while maintaining a private practice in psychotherapy.

Nosson Westreich, M.D.
Dr. Westreich, a child and adolescent Psychiatrist, is on the staff of the University of Toronto where he directs the inpatient adolescent regional unit as well as teaching both medical students and residents. He has authored professional articles, has been interviewed on radio, and is a noted speaker for medical, civic, and Jewish organizations internationally. Dr. Westreich served as Regional Director of NCSY for ten years prior to his medical education and initiated numerous youth projects including the Orthodox Union’s camp in Kharkov, Ukraine.

This conference is a continuation of several highly successful programs held on the East and West Coasts that have attracted thousands of participants. National
“Positive Jewish Parenting” programs are sponsored in part through a grant
from the Goldstein family and Parkside Memorial Chapels, exclusive providers of
the OU Levaya Program.
