The 19th Annual NCSY Ben Zakkai Honor Society Scholarship Dinner will take place in Manhattan on Sunday evening, January 26, 2014 at the Hudson Theatre of the Millennium Broadway Hotel.  This year’s Ben Zakkai Scholarship Dinner will be dedicated to the sacred legacy of  Anne Samson a”h,  who will posthumously receive our coveted Ezra Ben Zion Lightman Memorial Award. We will be paying tribute to her vibrant life and her role in helping her husband, Lee, NCSY’s first full-time Regional Director, create both our West Coast NCSY Region and NCSY’s first Summer Program, Camp NCSY–West.  There will also be a Ben Zakkai tribute to Anne a”h at our Israel Center on February 9, for those of you living in, or visiting Israel at that time.

At the dinner, we will also celebrate our newest inductees: Dr. Kerri Davidove Lee of Los Angeles (who will be formally inducted at this year’s NCSY West Coast Regional Convention), Former West Coast NCSY Youth Commission Chair, Irwin Nachimson, Veteran New York and National NCSY Advisor Alyse Neumark Rozenberg, and Levi Zeffren, Associate Chapter Director for Skokie NCSY.

In addition, we are proud to honor two exceptional NCSY Chapter Advisors, who have changed hundreds of lives during their decades of selfless service: Shelley Israel of Milwaukee and Bella Porter Smith of Minneapolis. They have both been selected as Honorary Members of Ben Zakkai. Shelley will receive the Enid and Harold Boxer Memorial Award and Bella will receive the Rebbetzin Elaine and Rabbi Pinchas Stolper Service Award.
