For years I have been focused on memory techniques made famous by Harry Lorayne and Kevin Trudeau. My favorite book on memory is Kevin Trudeau’s Mega Memory (http://www.amazon.com/Kevin-Trudeaus-Mega-Memory-Superpower/dp/0688153879). Recently I just read an amazing book on the way our mind works: Moonwalking with Einstein (http://www.amazon.com/Moonwalking-Einstein-Science-Remembering-Everything/dp/159420229X). I really recommend that book. Simply fascinating. In in, the author makes reference to a memory champion by the name of Dominic O’Brien. I looked into his system. In my opinion – it’s the single best system for memorizing large amounts of information. Search online for the Dominic O’Brien “list”. I started testing it out with some מראי מקומות – it really works well.
This can come in handy for synagogue leadership. Imagine if you could remember the name of every member and all of their children. Imagine if you could remember the information of a guest who pops up for the first time on an outreach Shabbos. There’s no end to how far you can take this.
