  • Maimonides Jewish Day School

    For over a quarter of a century, Maimonides Jewish Day School pioneered Torah education in Portland. Today it is the largest Orthodox Day School in Portland and an agency of the Jewish Federation. The cost saving proposal outlined in this article was originally implemented by Maimonides.     The Staff of MHT have done a superb job at being true innovators in education. This is just but one example. In only its 2nd year, they have more than doubled the student population. While both schools are good, and tuition is comparable, To my knowledge, Maayan Torah (http://www.mhtdayschool.org) is the only Orthodox Day School in Portland actively using the program described in the article, and investigating it as a model for addressing the Tuition Crisis.
