In his capacity as Torah Content Editor for the OU, Rabbi Jack Abramowitz, MS Ed., creates and coordinates content for such programs as Taryag and Mishna Yomit. His clear and down-to-earth explanations of even the most esoteric Torah concepts has been the hallmark of projects from NCSY's Torah on One Foot series of educational pamphlets to negiah.org, the first sexual abstinence web site designed specifically for Jewish teens. Rabbi Azarya Berzon
Rav Azarya Berzon graduated from Yeshiva University High School in 1970, and studied in Eretz Yisrael for three years (two years under the tutelage of HaRav Moshe Shapiro shlita, one of the greats of our generation). Returning to the US, he continued learning for the next five years under the direction of HaRav Yosef Dov Soloveitchik, zatzal, whose Derech HaLimud he faithfully absorbed. During those years he joined the YU Kollel, received Smicha from RIETS (1978), and earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Philosophy. The following year Rav Berzon enrolled in the Yeshiva University Gruss Kollel in Eretz Yisrael. He then taught for 13 years at Yeshivat Birchat Moshe in Maaleh Adumim and Yeshivat Shaalvim. In 1991 Rav Berzon founded Yeshiva Sha'arei Mevaseret Zion where he served as Rosh Yeshiva for 18 years. In August of 2009, Rav Berzon came to Toronto, Canada, to establish the Torah Mitziyon-Yeshiva University Beit Midrash Zichron Dov where Rav Berzon serves as Co-Rosh Kollel. Rav Berzon is acknowledged as an educator who utilizes the Brisker Derech. He has written extensively about this Derech HaLimud and is currently completing a work on the Rambam. Rav Azarya’s fervent Ahavas Yisrael was inculcated by his father, zatzal, one of the outstanding Rabbanim in America.

Rabbi Dr. Sholom Gold, attended Yeshiva Torah Vodaath in NY, Ner Israel in Baltimore, and Yeshivot Ponevez and Hevron in Israel. He received semicha from Chief Rabbi Yitzchok Isaac Halevi Herzog and from HaRav Yaacov Yitzchok Halevi Ruderman. As a young man in 1959, he came to Toronto to establish the Ner Israel Yeshiva, where he also built and developed Congregation Bnei Torah in Willowdale, a northern suburb of Toronto. Becoming Rabbi of Young Israel of West Hempstead NY in 1971, he built one of the first eruvin in North America, which quickly became a model world-wide. Under his leadership the local mikveh was built as West Hempstead was developing into one of the most vibrant religious communities in the NY area. Since making aliya in 1982, he has built and served as the Rav of Kehilat Zichron Yoseph in Har Nof, and in 1984 founded the Avrom Silver Jerusalem College for Adults, which merged with the Israel Center in 2002, where Rabbi Gold, as Dean, is teaching Torah today. He was one of the founders of the Ichud Harabanim L’maan Eretz Yisrael V’am Yisrael , under the guidance of the Chief Rabbis Avraham Schapira z”l and Mordechai Eliyahu z”l. Rabbi Aaron Greenberg
Rabbi Aaron Greenberg was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. After graduating from Yeshivat Or Chaim ('93), he spent a year and a half studying in Yeshivat Shilo. Upon completion of his degree in Psychology and Religious Studies from York University, Aaron returned to Israel to study at Yeshivat Har Etzion in the Gush. Upon returning to Canada, Aaron returned to his alma mater to work as a Madrich but soon began teaching classes in Gemara and Tanach. He began teaching at Or Chaim’s sister school, Ulpanat Orot, and was involved in coordinating student activates at both campuses. Aaron received his rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Gavriel Zinner of Brooklyn, New York. Aaron completed his Master's degree in Jewish School Administration and Education from Yeshiva University's Azrieli School of Education. In addition to his Master’s degree, Aaron also completed certification to be a principal through both the Board of Jewish Education and York University. Aaron is very involved in his local synagogue (BAYT) and actively assumes various roles including Rav of one of the minyanim on the yamim norayim as well as a weekly high school minyan. He sits on numerous committees in the community and acts as a Rabbinic counselor to numerous young adults, who look to him for spiritual guidance and advice. During his ten year tenure at Bnei Akiva Schools, Aaron was approached by Hillel of Greater Toronto to create a revolutionary program on campus at York University known as the “Turk Family Beit Midrash.”. This initiative grew into what is currently Aaron’s full time position as the co-educator and director of the Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus, a program sponsored by the Orthodox Union and Hillel. Currently Aaron also teaches a grade 12 Ethics course at Tannenbaum CHAT, a local Jewish High School.

Rav Aharon Kahn is the Joel Jablonski Professor of Talmud and Codes at Yeshiva University's Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS). Educated at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he obtained first class honours in Philosophy, Jonathan Sacks pursued postgraduate studies at New College, Oxford, and King's College London, gaining his PH. D in 1981 and rabbinic ordination from Jews' College and Yeshiva Etz Chaim. The Chief Rabbi has been a visiting professor at several universities in Britain, the United States and Israel, and is currently Visiting Professor of Theology at Kings' College London. He holds 14 honorary degrees, including a Doctor of Divinity conferred to mark his first ten years in office, by the Archbishop of Canterbury. At the time of his installation, the Chief Rabbi launched a 'Decade of Jewish Renewal'. This led to a series of innovative communal projects including Jewish Continuity, a national foundation for Jewish educational programmes and outreach; the Association of Jewish Business Ethics; the Chief Rabbinate Awards for Excellence; the Chief Rabbinate Bursaries, and Community Development, a national scheme to enhance Jewish community life. The Chief Rabbi began his second decade of office with a call to 'Jewish Responsibility' and a renewed commitment to the ethical dimension of Judaism. The Chief Rabbi has received a number of prizes, including the Jerusalem Prize 1995 for his contribution to diaspora Jewish life and The Ladislaus Laszt Ecumenical and Social Concern Award from Ben Gurion University in Israel in 2011. He was knighted by Her Majesty The Queen in 2005 and made a Life Peer, taking his seat in the House of Lords on 27th October 2009, where he sits on the cross benches as Baron Sacks of Aldgate in the City of London. The Chief Rabbi is a frequent contributor to radio, television and the national press. He regularly delivers BBC RADIO 4's Thought for the Day, writes a monthly Credo column for The Times as well as other comment pieces and broadcasts an annual Rosh Hashanah message on BBC. In 1990 he was invited by the BBC Board of Governors to deliver the annual Reith Lectures which were then published as The Persistence of Faith. He has written 24 books, his most recent being The Great Partnership: God, Science and the Search for Meaning which was published in July 2011. A number of his books have won literary awards, including the Grawemeyer Prize for Religion in 2004 for The Dignity of Difference, and a National Jewish Book Award in 2000 for A Letter in the Scroll. Covenant & Conversation: Genesis also won the National Jewish Book Award in 2009. Born in 1948 in London, he has been married to Elaine since 1970. They have three children, Joshua, Dina and Gila and five grandchildren.

Rabbi Jonathan Shulman
Rabbi Jonathan Shulman moved to Jerusalem from Cambridge, MA eight years ago. He is currently the OU/JLIC rabbi at the University of Pennsylvania. Jonathan began his rabbinic studies at Yeshivat Darchei Noam (Shapell's). After studying at Shapell's for two years, he moved on to the Mir Yeshiva, where he studied for the next five years. Before returning to the States, Jonathan worked with the overseas students at Hebrew University at the Afikim Kollel, a student center for Jewish learning. He served there as the director of the overseas program, teacher and mentor. He received his BA from the University of Virginia.

Shira Smiles
Mrs. Shira Smiles is a highly sought-after international lecturer, a popular seminary teacher, and an experienced curriculum developer. She is well-known for her unique teaching style, which seeks to bring understanding of Torah texts through analysis of relevant sources, while making the lessons learned from every verse relevant to her students' lives. Mrs. Smiles teaches at Darchei Bina Seminary. In addition, she leads a number of women's study group classes in Beit Shemesh, Yerushalayim, and Modiin. Rav Joseph B. Soloveitchik
HaRav Joseph B. Soloveitchik ztz”l, affectionately known as “the Rav,” was the scion of a legendary rabbinic family, the great-grandson of his namesake, the Beis HaLevi. Rav Soloveitchik was renowned as a Talmudist and philosopher, celebrated for his insightful synthesis of Torah ethos into our post-modern world. As rosh yeshiva of RIETS, the Rav ordained nearly 2,000 rabbis over almost half a century. The Rav passed away in 1993 at the age of 90. Rabbi Baruch Taub
Founding Rav and Rabbi Emeritus of Beth Avraham Congregation of Toronto / Thornhill (BAYT), one of the largest and most vibrant congregation in the Orthodox world. At the invitation of Toronto philanthropist Joseph Tanenbaum, Rabbi Taub initiated the BAYT in his new home with 12 founding member families, thirty years ago. In the years that followed the shul grew to over 800 families, housed in a state-of-the-art Synagogue building. Under the aegis of its "Meshech Chochma" Adult Education Program, the BAYT conducts over 30 weekly Shiurim, including two daily Daf Yomi Shiurim as well as numerous Shiurim b'Ivrit. With five daily Shacharis Minyonim, two Mincha and Ma'ariv Services, as well as seven Shabbos morning services, the BAYT has become a vibrant Torah Learning and Davening Center. Rabbi Taub served on the Bais Din and was the President of the Va'ad Harabonim of Toronto. In 1990 Rabbi Taub conducted the Siyum Hashas in Lublin, Poland, the site of the founder of the Daf Yomi, Rabbi Meir Shapiro ZT"L. He was awarded the National Rabbinic Leadership Award of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America in 1993. The Rabbi has led an annual BAYT Mission to Israel for the last nine years, twinning the Shul with the Beit El Community. A much sought-after speaker, Rabbi Taub has lectured in most major cities in the USA and Canada. In addition Rabbi Taub has contributed articles to leading Torah Journals. Before returning to his native Toronto, Rabbi Taub served as International Director of NCSY (National Conference of Synagogue Youth) of the UOJCA. In that capacity he inaugurated "NCSY Goes to Yeshiva" and the "NCSY Torah Experience." He also served as the adjunct professor of Judaic Studies at Stern College, Yeshiva University. Rabbi Taub is a Yadin Yadin Musmach of the Ner Israel Rabbinical College, Baltimore, Maryland and holds an M.A. degree from Loyola College Baltimore Maryland and a Doctorate in Judaic Studies from Maimonides College. In November 2010, the BAYT families dedicated a Sefer Torah in his honour and hosted a dinner for the community to honour his retirement as Rav and his becoming Rabbi Emeritus. RabbiTaub has made Aliya and lives in Netanya with his Rebbetzin Malkah (nee Mandelberg) of Johannesburg, South Africa.

Rav Pinchas Mordechai Teitz
Rav Pinchas Mordechai Teitz saw opportunities for the growth of Torah when he came to the U.S. in 1933. He built a modern Torah community in Elizabeth, NJ, where two mikvaos, three schools, and five shuls form a united JEC, Jewish Educational Center. In 1953 he wanted to enable those who had become disillusioned with socialism and Communism to re-connect with the Torah of their youth. He would bring the beit midrash into their homes through a weekly half-hour of study in Yiddish on their favorite radio station, WEVD. Although a full page could not be covered in a half hour, he called it Daf Hashavua. Not only did he reach his intended audience, but a government survey of foreign language programs found 200,000 listeners. Rav Teitz sent tapes of the broadcasts to Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, and Philadelphia, initiating the Torah tapes phenomenon. Jews in Russia heard the shiurim on short-wave radios through Kol Yisrael Lagolah. After he ended the program in 1988 a new wave of university students asked for tapes in order to hear pure, elegant Litvishe Yiddish. Scholars enjoyed his clarity in explaining the gemara; he started each topic with the Torah verses behind it. His grandson Avi, who learned with Rav Teitz on Shabbos afternoons, said, “Some people make you feel the gemara is too complicated for you; Saba makes it clear.”
