A Glossary of Basic Jewish Terms and Concepts

 

INTRODUCTION

This "Glossary" has three purposes which may, on occasion, overlap. They are:

  • To provide immediate information designed to clarify a point under discussion in the site. That word or idea would be "linked" to a place on the site where it is more fully developed, or to the Glossary.

  • To provide limited biographical or conceptual background regarding people or ideas.

  • To explain Hebrew terms or expressions used on the site; in this role, it functions as a minimal Hebrew-English dictionary.
